President Muhammadu Buhari has dismissed insinuations that all is not well between him, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Leadership reports.

He described the  rumours as unfounded and mischievous.
According to a statement by Malam Garba Shehu, the Presidential spokesman, Buhari was constantly in contact with Tinubu before, during and after the last Saturday's Ondo governorship election.

He said reports that Buhari and APC machinery are working to destroy Tinubu is completely false.

Shehu noted that Tinubu had assured the President that he would not work against the APC in Ondo, and he honoured his words.

He said Buhari regards Tinubu as a priceless political asset to the APC.

The Presidential aide advised those peddling rumours to stop spreading the seeds of discord and animosity between the President and Tinubu or the party.

He said: "President Buhari commended Tinubu’s spirit of comradeship in  promptly congratulating Rotimi Akeredolu who was elected Governor.

"The President also noted that at a time his administration is preoccupied with governance issues, rumours of divisions and alleged scheming within the party are counterproductive to internal unity and cohesion in APC."

He added that Buhari is proud of Tinubu and his immeasurable role in the party and the movement.
