A 19-year-old boy has been remanded in prison in Lagos for allegedly stealing money from a church.
A 19-year-old boy, Stephen John, has been remanded in prison custody by a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos State for allegedly stealing the sum of N31, 000 from a church offering.

(NAN), reports that John had broken into the church, a Catholic Church
located at Elegbata, Agbongbon area of the state on November 16, 2016,
at about 11pm to steal the money.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Nurudeen Thomas, told the court that the accused with two others who are still at large, broke into the church and stole the money from the church offering box.
“He was caught by a security guard, while the others escaped," Inspector Thomas told the Magistrate, Mrs. F.O. Ikobayo.
When
the three-count charges of conspiracy, breaking, entry and stealing
were read to him, the accused pleaded guilty and Ikobayo ordered that he
should be remanded in Ikoyi Prison while adjourning the case to
December 2 for facts and sentencing.
