The governorship candidate of the
Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), has
promised to look into the agitations of some traditional rulers in the
state over the issue of grading.
Some Grade D royal fathers known as Olu or Baale had written a series of petitions, calling for a review of their status.
The PDP governorship campaign team on
Thursday, however, promised that if Jegede was elected governor on
November 26, he would look into the agitations of the traditional
rulers.
A statement on Thursday quoted the PDP
campaign team led by Adedayo Omolafe as saying this in Igunsin, a
community in the Akure-North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
They PDP leaders represented Jegede at the official inauguration of a borehole in the community.
They called on the traditional rulers to sensitise their people on the need to vote for continuity come November 26.
Omolafe promised that if voted in, Jegede would construct the roads leading to the town and adjourning communities.
Earlier, the Olu of Igunsin, Oba Adeoye Akinyemi, promised the campaign team the support of the people of Igunsin town.
While speaking on other political
parties in the state, Oba Akinyemi said Igunsin and its neighbouring
towns were not ready to entertain any other political party except the
PDP.
“In Igunsin town, we are fully ready
to cast our total votes for the governorship candidate of the Peoples
Democratic Party, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), and we are not in support of
any other political party in the state,” he said.
